Biografia
Ystrad Mynach, nascido em Fairweather Low, originalmente ganhou fama como vocalista e líder do grupo pop de Cardiff, Amen Corner. A banda teve quatro sucessos no Top 30 - uma sequência começando no selo Deram, subsidiário da Decca, com 'Gin House Blues' em 1967 - antes de sair no final de 1968 para se juntar ao indie pioneiro de Andrew Loog Oldham, Immediate. Amen Corner foi instantaneamente recompensado com um número um no Reino Unido, '(If Paradise Is) Half As Nice' no início de 1969, mas, apesar de outro hit no Top Five com 'Hello Suzie' de Roy Wood, a banda não sobreviveu ao sucesso.
