Sir Peter Robert Jackson, ONZ, KNZM[1] (Pukerua Bay, 31 de outubro de 1961), é um roteirista, cineasta e produtor cinematográfico neozelandês. Filho de Bill e Joan Jackson, ambos imigrantes ingleses, ele ficou conhecido por dirigir a trilogia épica O Senhor dos Anéis, adaptada por ele, juntamente com Fran Walsh e Philippa Boyens da obra homônima de J. R. R. Tolkien. Dirigiu também a história que antecede O Senhor dos Anéis, chamada O Hobbit também baseada num dos livros de J. R. R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey estreou em 14 de dezembro de 2012.
